So after many tears and very little sleep and while I read the rest of the comments posted I realize that my point still never came a cross. I guess I will try to make it very clear.
1) Geordan should never had yelled at me nor had Josh allowed it
2) Having discussed the animal disrespect before with the Nevilles and Josh even stepping in to ask his brothers to not do it, it continues to happen. I 100% believe that when the comments start in a joking way right next to me intending me to hear they are trying to be rude and just don't care about my feelings.
3) After New Years night when I was discussing the speeders on our road and how she came to say sorry but everyone laughed about Geordan and mine thing, I realised that no words would ever get through to him or any of you. And Dan expressing to me at the table that I needed to "just get over it" help me understand they don't think it is wrong.
4)Lines have been crossed, mostly my fault (admitted in the original post) however the feeling of security and safety for discussing feelings with the "brothers" disappeared a long time ago when I left crying over a dead creature and the jokes continue to this day.
5) I have every right and need to receive support and advise from my Friends any way I see fit. My blog is only published for people I invite, the WWW can not view it unless they know the name of it. It can not be searched on blogger.com or the WWW.
6) I fully understand that we are family and will always be and although it may seem immature or trivial to those not experiencing it, it feels very real to me. My feelings are very much hurt by Geordan, Nick, Dan and Shane and it is 100% my fault. I allowed the joking (which can be fun) to go to far. My guess would be that in order for the mean teasing to stop the "nice" (if it can be called that) teasing must also stop.
7) my intention was never to bring such "drama" to the Neville family. It was to discuss my life with people I care about. I picked my words carefully with my original post. I feel that if those that become very defensive would reread the blog they could see that it was not a Neville brother bash fest. (Trust me I only do that over the phone or with other sister in laws!) I also admire the tight bond the brothers have, however, I do feel that it can be taken too far. In situations like mine and Geordan, Josh didn't react because it was HIS BROTHER.

8) Maria, I appreciate your idea on a large FHE, however, Josh's brothers have seen me cry once and I will never let that happen again. Which is often why I end up leaving quickly, and people think I am just throwing a temper tantrum. They do not listen to me, if they did this blog never would have come about.

To forgive and Forget...can it be done?

I must say I am rather surprised by the votes which have been made to the RIGHT of this post. Although I am rather positive that most of the votes are from Josh's family it still was not what I expected. My thoughts might be slightly off due to the "hard" feelings I am feeling toward some of Josh's brothers but I expected more "hell no's." As Josh and I laughed while we were putting together the poll, we discussed his role in sticking up for his wife. I don't think he has ever thought that he would need to step in and stop one or more of his brothers from being idiots but the time has come. He was at a loss but now understands that it is not alright for ANYONE to speak to me that way. My dad would have ended the situation very quickly and my brother (even though he is mean to me) would never have allowed that to happen. What happened to family being there for each other? So here I am stuck between two ways a family was raised. I was raised with a different view on how women should be raised than the Neville boys. Who's right? Who's wrong? It seems like I am right but the rest of the sis-in-laws seem to be fine and not have their feelings hurt. Should I have lowered myself to his (their) level by expressing very rudely with the many bad words how I felt (still feel) about him (them)? Is that really how our relationship should (will) be? Does he (they) really not care enough about me to feel bad about hurting my feelings? Do they hate me enough to continue to laugh about it and be proud about it? I don't understand, can someone explain this to me. Just saying "he's an idiot" is not enough anymore. Why is there pleasure found in discussing attempts to kill animals while crossing the road in front of me knowing how strongly I feel about that subject. Are they really not mature enough to just say "hey we don't like you, could you please leave" instead of trying to make me so uncomfortable I want to leave. This could totally be my fault because of the joking relationship I have had with many of them in the past. I guess because I can not change them, I must change me. My only option is to stop joking and being fun with them because no one knows how not to cross the line myself included. How do you forgive and forget when you are so hurt? I guess this is going to be something Josh and I can't work on at FHE with the kids. The silver lining shines though!!

How should we treat our family?

It's the start of a new year which brings about the resolutions. I know that many people hate this about the new year and refuse to make any. I, on the other hand, love this and want to make as many as I can. Josh and I have come a very long way in our marriage, but we still have a ways to go. We are so different in so many ways but unfortunately we are the same in that we do not treat each other very nice when we fight and some times say mean things to each other. I love my husband and know he doesn't deserve that and being raised by my parents I know that I don't deserve that. So with that all being said, my first resolution ( although no real way to measure it) is to be nicer to Josh, and follow the Golden Rule. One down many more to come!
